Our Story
American Dream Landscaping Inc. started with a vision, a pickaxe, and two shovels. After immigrating from Mexico, our founder Jose spent over 15 years as the lead landscaper for another company before taking a leap of faith to build something of his own—with the support of his wife and a passion for the craft.
For Jose, landscaping is more than a job—it’s a calling. The satisfaction of a job well done and the appreciation from clients continue to drive him and the company forward.
Meet the Founder
Jose, the founder of American Dream Landscaping Inc., came to the United States from Jalisco, Mexico, in the 1980s in pursuit of a better life. What was supposed to be a stopover on the way to Idaho turned into something more—he put down roots in Cedar City, where he built both a family and a thriving business.
Jose is a proud father of four and grandfather to nine, and his deep love for his family continues to drive his work ethic and passion for serving the community.

Jose’s journey began in Jalisco, Mexico. In his mid-20s, he set out for the United States with hopes of achieving the American Dream. Although his original destination was Idaho, fate had other plans—a bus stop in Cedar City introduced him to a new home, where he would eventually establish both his family and his business. With no formal English education, Jose taught himself the language through persistence and necessity. He became a U.S. citizen, earned his business license, and poured his energy into mastering the landscaping craft. His drive was always rooted in one thing: family. With four children and nine grandchildren, Jose’s work ethic and heart are fueled by those he loves most.
The growth of American Dream Landscaping Inc. has been a true community effort—built on the support of loyal friends, trusting clients, and a desire to give back to the place that gave him a chance.
